Whenever I get hopeful about the state of the world, I think about the lax security at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of gas masks and biohazard suits, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that the undead are everywhere. Often, they’re not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but they’re always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the outbreak happened, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from people were messages of hate or revenge – they were all basically unintelligible. If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaking suspicion… zombies, actually, are all around.

LaShunda Newson returned to bring the good news to our couch as Charmaine Brown, a preacher and healer from a local snake-worshipping church. She managed to summon a snake into Hudson’s tech booth, but a solution presented itself when Norma Soto (played by Lauren Gravois Brizendine) joined us to discuss the invisible menu items that can be found at any restaurant, if only you know where to look for them.
Adam Gaulding came on as William Conrad to explain how Aron Ralston stole his thunder by merely cutting off his own arm. Fair warning: this is kinda gory. Then Kyle Bulthuis managed to bring some levity by discussing his job of a vermin breeder. Somehow, we ended up imagining a brand new kind of Spider-Man musical.

Dallas Comedy House co-founder Amanda Austin played the delightfully accommodating couch cleaner Wilhelmina Lagerfeld, but then we had to make way for the steamrolling hip-hop artist J.J. Bad Z-Boy, played by Nick Scott, who wouldn’t give me a finder’s fee and thought I was hitting on him.

We celebrated our tenth live special with a Letterman-style Top Ten List (courtesy of a Dallas Comedy House writing class), then had a deep, yet lively discussion of the cheese-y nature of various celebrity thighs. Thanks to Darek Tatum and Ashleigh Almond for sharing the couch and teaching us the meaning of true uncalled-for love.
